So I was talking with a customer today about the built in distance function on the modern golf trolleys you know the one where you can measure how far you have traveled or hit your golf ball.

Well as it is winter in the UK the topic soon turned to winter wheels as he wanted a set as his golf club don’t allow electric golf trolleys on course without them and he said to me “if I fit winter wheels to my electric golf trolley because of the spike surely the measurement will to totally off” hmmmm I think he is completely right.

Anyone have any comments on this can you confirm if this is the case or not.

Cheers

So it appears that again the major trolley companies have move the battery goal posts again. Here is the new directive on battery care.

Advise now that the battery must be charged on a hard surface with ambient temperature between 10 and 30 degrees Celsius outside this can reduce battery capacity or overcharging.

On top of this the advice is not to charge your battery inside? Interesting so you need an outside area which is between 10 and 30 degrees C?

Please make a comment on this one.

Also now Please Please Please do not leave your trolley battery connected to your charger for longer than 24 hours.

For more advice email us:

Golf burns a large amount of energy some say about 1500 cal’s in a round. The weight of golf clubs can be anywhere from 5-20 kg’s? Question is why carry this weight for 3-4 hours when you can use an Electric Golf Trolley?

Golf is about keeping our body’s in a relaxed state to allow us to hit great shots so getting rid of the weight is a BIG advantage some would say its worth 4 shots a round.

My personal opinion is that I am extremely comfortable leaving the golf course after 18 holes with an Electric Trolley I enjoy a pint and a bite to eat with the guys no back pain or leg pain and could easily play another round.

I would definitely encourage you go get out there and give a trolley a go in fact if you drop by we will lend you a demo trolley so you can feel the benefits for yourself.

The question I get asked a lot is ‘What type of battery do you use?’ Well the answer is easy we use a sealed lead acid version and we share the same manufacture as Powakaddy. Why you ask? Well because we feel that the lead acid is the more stable battery for our golf trolleys we have try’d gel in the past and found a much higher fail rate within 3 years than with lead acid.

We boast a less than 1% battery fail rate which is awesome in the industry.

“Lithium” I hear you ask yes we are working on a lithium battery pack for the trolley we should have test models finished later this year. The aim here will be to get a lithium battery that can easily cover 36 holes with a fast charge time about 4 hours and have a life span of about 6-8 years.

Once we have finished testing as always we will post our results on our Blog pages for you to look at.

If any of you have comments on this please let us know? Electric Golf Trolleys

Good question!! We never needed them before now so why the mad panic for us to go out and get a set? Is this careful marketing to drive sales or is there an added benifit?

Over the next few weeks I will be testing some winter wheels on our trolleys and giving my opinion so come back for the results I think they will be interesting.

5) Winter washing – Take care to clean your trolley using soppy water and a damp sponge DO NOT USE POWER HOSE OR AIR HOSE TO CLEAN TROLLEY. This will push water into the electrical parts causing a breakdown.

6) Oil – Do not oil your trolley for winter if there is noise please consult a professional for repair.
